The short version: Your calculator entries stay in your browser. When Can I Retire? does not currently create accounts, send your financial entries to a server, sell personal information, or use advertising trackers.
Information stored on your device
The calculator uses your browser’s local storage to save the financial information and assumptions you enter. This allows your plan to remain available when you return using the same browser and device. The information is processed locally in your browser and is not intentionally transmitted to the site operator.
You can remove saved calculator information by clearing this site’s data in your browser. Private-browsing modes may remove it automatically when you close the session.
Information received by service providers
Like most hosted websites, the hosting provider may automatically receive technical information necessary to deliver and secure the site, such as an IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps, and diagnostic or security logs. The site is expected to be hosted by Netlify and is subject to Netlify’s own privacy practices.
The site currently loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those files, Google may receive technical request information such as your IP address and browser headers. No calculator entries are included in that request.
Email communications
If you email edgarespina@icloud.com, the site operator receives your email address and whatever information you choose to include. That information is used to respond, investigate reported errors, and improve the site. Do not email account numbers, passwords, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive financial information.
Cookies and similar storage
The current version does not use advertising cookies or behavioral analytics. It uses local storage only to remember your calculator plan. Because this storage supports a feature you request, the site does not currently display a nonessential-cookie consent banner. If analytics, advertising, or other nonessential tracking is added, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before those tools are enabled.
Sharing and selling
The site operator does not currently sell or rent personal information. Calculator entries are not intentionally shared because they remain on your device. Technical hosting data and email communications may be processed by the providers that deliver those services.
Data retention and security
Saved plans remain in local storage until you or your browser removes them. Emails may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond and maintain support records. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so please avoid submitting sensitive identifying information.
Children’s privacy
This site is intended for adults planning for retirement and is not directed to children under 13. The site operator does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
